Yellow Class
Our topic: Creep, Crawl and Wriggle!
Communication and Literacy
This term we will be reading and exploring a range of stories, including ‘The Little Seed’ and ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. |
We will take part in a range of sensory walks around school, using objects of reference, photographs and symbols to support this. We will engage in choice making activities, communicating our preferences of minibeasts! We will also continue to develop our skills during Tac Pac and Shabang sessions, communicating when we would like more of a resource.
Cognition
During these sessions, we will be taking part in switch activities, through the use of audio resources such as the CD player, ipad, computer and toys that make sounds. We will continue to visit the ICT suite within school, spending time using the magic carpet and sound bars. |
We will also explore sensory trays, looking at a range of minibeast/woodland sensory objects. We will continue to develop our skills in finding hidden objects and transferring objects from one container to another.
Physical
Within PE, we will continue with our consistent parachute game to start our sessions and finish with our relaxing cool down. This term we will focus on taking part in group activities, including team games and relays! |
PSED
We will continue to work hard on improving our interaction skills, with both familiar peers and staff and those who are new to our school. We will work alongside our peers through sharing and taking turns during a variety of motivating activities. We will build further on our circle time sessions, taking part in these adult led groups where we will focus, sustain and shift our attention to a range of motivating resources such as moving teeth toys, flying butterflies and slinkies!
My World and Independence
This term we will take part in trips out into the community, focusing on some of our Heatherwood 10 experiences. We hope to visit a restaurant or pub to have lunch and go for a walk around lakeside. As part of our ‘Creep, Crawl and Wriggle’ topic, we will also visit our local woodland.
The Arts
DARTS will continue to work with us, exploring and focusing their music sessions on our chosen topic. As part of our smaller music sessions, we will explore the different ways in which we can play instruments including fast/slow and loud/quiet. |
During our creative sessions, we will create a range of minibeast art work!
